Group Therapy

Group Therapy allows individuals to merge their interpretation of reality with other people’s interpretations in such a way that they are encouraged to develop a new understanding of themselves as well as the world around them. The foundation of Group Therapy is sharing in the experience of others. During Group, therapists strive not only to help students identify their common bonds, but also to have each student appreciate the diversity among their peers.

Groups usually last 8-10 weeks and are generally limited to 6-8 students. Topics are determined based upon the particular needs of the students enrolled at any given time. Students are enrolled in group therapy only if they have a need. The Groups below are examples of topics that have been provided in the past:

•Building Confidence
•Anger Management
•Dealing with Depression
•Self-Esteem
•Relationship Building
•Managing Mood Swings
•Grief and Loss
•Alcohol and Drug Counseling
